Our knowledge and equipment is world class while remaining faithful to the environment by reducing our carbon footprint and being ECO-friendly.
Recycling all materials possible, providing amalgam traps to catch mercury from entering our waterways and from our office and administration to the dentist’s chair we remain faithful to the environment in every way possible. Paper-free/online registrations, recycled paper for office admin and treatment rooms, CFC free cups, environmentally friendly cleaning products, steam sterilisation procedures, UV-C LED OZONE light disinfection systems between patients and Vac-Stations to eliminate aerosols in rooms to name just a few! All this without compromising our patients’, staff or the earth’s health and safety.
Staff
Nadia Boermans
Nadia is owner and practice manager. She learnt everything about the dental industry when she started Bytes of Northcote in 2015, and by asking lots of questions and getting feedback from the doctors and experienced nurses. She has a background in care work and worked for the TAC for 21 years treating and caring for patients with acquired head injuries. Her main aim is to provide a great experience for her patients, being environmentally friendly and loves treating everyone like they are part of her family. In her spare time Nadia loves to travel, renovate houses and spend time with her husband and two children, Amie and Nero.
Dr. Nikhita Arora
Dr. Nikhita completed her Bachelor of Oral Health and subsequent Graduate Diploma in Dentistry at Griffith University in Queensland before returning back to Melbourne; the city she calls home. We know her as dentist by day, artist by night. Nikhita loves combining her passion for art with an interest in health science to provide functional and beautiful dental solutions for her patients.
She has a particular interest in cosmetic dentistry and full mouth rehabilitation using digital technology. However she prides herself on excelling in all fields of dentistry so she can educate, plan and treat any dental concerns you may have start to finish. She has undertaken training and volunteering both locally and internationally and continues to professionally educate herself to make sure she is on the cutting edge of how progressive dental techniques have now become become.
Outside of work Nikhita enjoys her role as a mother while exploring the food, culture and arts that Melbourne has to offer. Her interests include travelling, keeping active by exploring nature with her dog and curling up with a good book.
Lawrence Hoang (Oral Health Therapist)
Lawrence is our awesome Oral Heath Therapist (OHT) with extended adult scope which allows him to provide routine dental procedures including check-ups, cleans and fillings for patients of all ages including children. Lawrence has a passion for seeing patients that are particularly anxious, making their experience as comfortable and relaxing as possible. In his spare time Lawrence likes to travel, practices Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and loves a good round of golf.
Dr. Yan Lau (currently on maternity leave)
Dr Yan Lau has a wealth of experience in private and public dentistry. She provides comprehensive dental care to patients of all ages and her caring and gentle approach puts patients as ease. She values patient education and enjoys working with patients to achieve to their dental goals and needs. Yan is environmentally conscious and cares about recycling and reducing waste in the clinic.
Yan obtained her dental degree from La Trobe University in 2013, and holds a Graduate Diploma in Dental Sleep Medicine. She has a special interest in helping patients who suffer from snoring and obstructive sleep apnoea and is a member of the Australasian Sleep Association. Yan is also a certified Invisalign provider and actively participates in further dental education. In her spare time Yan enjoys gardening, traveling and spending time with her family and dog.
.Dr. Conor O'Kane (Gone back home to the UK)
Conor qualified from the University of Sheffield in the United Kingdon in 2012 and since then has been working in general practice. After working in England and Wales for five years Conor decided he wanted a change and therefore made the move to Australia. Since arriving in Australia in April 2017 he has been part of the Bytes team and thoroughly enjoyed his time here.
Conor is a highly motivated practitioner who prides himself on providing the very best service and care to patients. He endeavours to understand patients' needs and aims to create holistic treatment plans, which in turn deliver positive outcomes. Conor truly believes in the philosophy of preventing dental issues before they occur; therefore, educating his patients on their oral health issues is at the forefront of his care. Conor has developed a special interest in restorative and cosmetic dentistry. He especially loves improving people's smiles and seeing how it can really transform individual's confidence and self-esteem. A smile is happiness you'll find right under your nose.
In his spare time, Conor likes to play a lot of sport including soccer, tennis, surfing and golf. He has also been enjoying exploring this wonderful country.
